It's a little ironic - the more time I have, the less I want to blog.

I just quit my job which means I halfheartedly do my job which means a lot more hours in the day for The Bug, getting caught up on some television shows, cooking, laundry, cleaning, and of course, blogging.  Yet blogging seems to be the last thing I want to do.  Instead it's something that I do really fast so I can move on with my day.  And how sad!

So after mulling it over for a week or so now, I've decided to let this blog go until our next little Baby Corrigan.  At least for now.

In the mean time, please join us at our actual family blog at kimbymaes.blogspot.com.  It's private for now though, so make sure you send me your email address so I can add you - doesn't matter who you are, how long we've known you, or even how well we know you.  As long as we recognize your name, we'd love to add you to the blog!

Besides, I love stalking blogs and if you're reading this one, you probably do too.  So we'd love to feed your addiction by adding you!

The babes slept like a dream last night!

In fact, I woke up this morning in a panic.  I realized I had fallen into a deep sleep and hadn't heard K at all!  I was about to jump out of bed and run into her room when I heard her start talking to let me know she was awake.  Still slightly panicked since I didn't know what time it was, I got up, put on my glasses, and was so relieved to see it was 6:11 am!

She also fell asleep really well tonight for bed ... unswaddled!  This whole non-swaddling thing is going great!  Plus she now can't fall asleep until she rolls onto her stomach.  Then it's a few minutes of complaining and she's out.  And it's super cute to watch her sleep on her tummy.  She also snores.

Today has been a completely lazy day.  I didn't really work, I didn't clean, I didn't even cook!  I just hung out with Katers all day and debated whether I should work or not.  And it was fun to play with her today.  She's not really interested in playing with me but she loves playing with her toys and I love watching it.  Plus it's always fascinating to me how fascinated she can be with the simplest items ... like a drawstring.

Katers is exhausted today.  And so are Mike and I.  Why, you ask?  Because we didn't sleep much until 1:30 am.  And by "we," I really mean just Mike.  I stayed up with him until about midnight and didn't hear anything else until 7 am when K started waking up.

Swaddling went great yesterday and went really well last night for a few hours!  Then she woke up and was frustrated.  We took turns trying to calm her down but finally gave up around 1:30 and Mike swaddled her.  I faintly remember trying to act like I had been awake the whole time when he came in to tell me he was giving up but I was really mostly asleep.

Today swaddling didn't work.  She slept in her car seat a lot and when I tried to put her down for a nap, she wanted to play.  In fact, when she saw I was taking her to her crib, she laughed.  I left her alone and she played.  I went in to calm her down and she played.  Finally I ... yes ... climbed into her crib again (Mike suggested it!) to stop her from rolling and to hold her down so she'd stop playing with everything she could grab on to - it hurts my back to lean over the crib for extended periods of time.  Instead she made me frustrated by grabbing at my face, pulling my hair, and laughing at me when I tried to hold her hands down.  So I got out.

Then she cried.  So she didn't get a nap until she fell asleep in my arms after eating.  But not for long.

Tonight I went to Enrichment Night, a women's church activity.  I said I'd help and my nice neighbor said I should go so I did.  I didn't want to leave though because I was worried Mike would let her cry the entire time I was gone.  And when I walked in the door, do you know what I heard?  Silence.  She wasn't crying!  She was asleep in her crib with her arms out.  Really, it's a good thing I didn't stay home.  I would've gotten frustrated that she was crying and not sleeping and could've ruined everything.  Mike's such a great dad for Katers.

And right now she's dead asleep on her belly.  Actually, it sort of looks like she passed out from shear exhaustion.  It's really cute.

I'm just hoping she is able to stay asleep tonight.  Otherwise, Mike is going to have another tough night.

And I'm going to have a tough time pretending like I was awake the whole time he was up with Katers ... I mean, I don't want him to feel like he's alone in this effort ... even though in the middle of the night, he really is.

Last night was like having a newborn all over again.  We didn't get much sleep because K was upset that she kept coming out of her swaddle.  So today was the day - she no longer is going to be swaddled.  It's much more worth it to not sleep to train her to sleep unswaddled than to keep getting up to swaddle her.

She took two naps today like a champ.  I had to hold her hands until she started drifting off to sleep so she wouldn't get distracted by them but once she started drifting and I let go, she did really well.

Today was the first day (Mike's was yesterday) I heard her actually say real words - "ma" and "meh."  Okay, "meh" isn't really a word she'd use often but I'm excited for her to start babbling instead of just cooing.  But I do like the coos.  Unfortunately she only said her words while she was upset ... it's still progress though.

What I think is so amazing about this photo is that she's actually on her hands and knees.  She's progressing so quickly to crawling, it's amazing!  Last month I never even had to worry about her rolling around and now she's getting on her hands and knees and rocking.  She's also going from a sitting position to on her belly these days.

She's getting so mobile that it still surprises me. I'll leave her one place, look away, look back, and she's gone!  She goes from sitting there and then she's rolled across the room when I see her next.  It's so crazy!  I always thought I wanted her to start being mobile quickly but now that it's happening, it's a little worrisome ... especially today when I left her by the couch and then a few seconds later, I found her a few feet away tugging on all the cords in our living room.

By the way, she fell asleep tonight all by herself.  I know it's way too soon to get excited but sometimes it's just the small things, right?

Okay, thanks for the responses!  But now my question is, how do you get a baby to sleep unswaddled?  It's funny because at church Mike and I see all these babies sleeping in car seats and sleeping in their parent's arms.  And what is Katers doing?  Yeah, she's screaming because she can't fall asleep.

I'm just so impressed with babies who will sleep.
